No, Phuket is not dangerous to visit. There are some parts of the island that you may want to avoid if you have a specific goal or interest in mind – but for tourists and holidaymakers, it’s one of Asia’s safest destinations!

Is there a lot going on?

There is a lot going on in and around Phuket Province, which means that visitors can always find something to do. Whether you’re looking for an activity during a sunny day or just want some entertainment after dark there’s no shortage of things available!

Is there anything I need to do before travelling?

Currently, you need to check the Covid entry requirements, and it is hoped that vaccinated travellers will not have to quarantine.

Do any vaccinations matter in this country more than others?

You can’t enter the country if you have an infected cut or wound and are not free of diseases like tuberculosis, malaria, dengue fever etc. You should get these checked before flying! No vaccinations are needed for travel from North America or Europe into Thailand.

When coming to Phuket or, firstly, to Thailand, you need a passport valid for at least six months after your entry date, and as a tourist, most countries have visas on arrival but do check with the Thai embassy before booking your flights.
