We start outside Phuket in what is probably it’s nearest competitive tropical Island ‘Langkawi’

The Phuket Insider reporting “Malaysia’s Langkawi To Be Aviation Hub”,

AirAsia has made public plans to create an international hub on the island.

Tony Fernandes recently said five aircraft would be based at the destination as an initial step.

Along with interesting development Two major new luxury hotels are coming up on the island – the St Regis and a Ritz-Carlton which are looking to induce upscale demand.

Moving onto the Phuket Boating and Sailing scene and in particular Yacht Haven Marina in the North of Phuket and the Phuket Gazette reporting that Yacht Haven Marina has opened the first 100 Meter berth in the region fully dedicated to visiting superyachts.

Yacht Haven welcomes boats of all sizes, but is widely regarded as a first port of choice for superyachts. With deep-water access and sited 15-minutes’ drive to the airport, it has become the largest and busiest marina in the region and has seen demand grow sharply for ever larger berths.
