Allen Bell has been spinning the hits for more than four decades.
A career in radio, which began as a teenager in London, England. Taking Allen around the world including stops in Italy and Canada.
Allen has been heard on radio stations such as Capital Radio, Radio Nova International, Breeze FM, 1450 CHUC, 980 CHEX and 101.5 CFMP.
His passion for music started at an early age, growing up listening to his elder siblings music collections. They introduced him to The Beatles, Jimmy Hendrix, Fairport Convention, Muddy Waters, The Walker Brothers to name a few.
Allen Bell in the 80’s
In the 80’s Bell had an opportunity to work, and become friends, with American songwriter Tommy Boyce. Boyce along with writing partner Bobby Hart composed a string of hits during the 6os, including Freddie Cannon’s “Action,” Curtis Lee‘s “Pretty Little Angel Eyes,” Jay & the Americans‘ “Come a Little Bit Closer,” and Little Anthony & the Imperials‘ “Hurt So Bad. Boyce & Hart, are possibly best known as the frequent songwriters for the Monkees, their hits include I’m Not Your Stepping Stone, Last Train to Clarksville, and the (Theme from) The Monkees.
Allen looks to the future as the radio industry evolves and develops. He says that continuing change and improvements are good for listeners.
New Music on Phuket Island Radio is an opportunity for indie artists to showcase their music. An introduction for listeners who would not normally hear this style of music.
Each week Allen talks to musicians about their craft, the hard work and the road they have travelled to get where they are today in their career.
