Get to know Libby D
Libby was born by the sea in Koszalin, Poland. Her mother’s dream of securing a better life in a faraway dreamland called Australia saw the young family escape communist Poland just a few years later to Greece.
It took two and a half years of determination and relentless persistence on her mother’s part to finally be granted permission to move to Australia in early 1990.
Libby D completed her schooling in western Sydney and always had a keen interest in the Arts.
Writing song lyrics from the age of 9, starting up a band at 14, Libby was sure that she was going to be a rockstar.
Unfortunately, her vocal abilities and guitar skills required much more than she could offer, so she stuck to singing without an audience and working on her theatrical skills.
Having performed in stage plays, Libby also completed various theatre courses in some of the most renowned schools, including the National Institute of Drama, Sydney Theatre School, and the Australian Film and Television Academy.
She recently directed Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ in an outdoor setting to a sell-out audience.
Libby has lived and worked in the UK, the Netherlands, and the Caribbean and also speaks Polish and Dutch. She discovered her love of radio broadcasting in Bathurst, NSW where she worked as a copywriter, host of Talk of the Town on 2BS Gold, and Breakfast Announcer on B-Rock FM. in 2015, Libby won an Australian Commercial Radio Award for best on-air promotion. This year, Libby is once again nominated as a finalist for the on-air promotion.
Libby has returned to Thailand every year for the last 5 years, for the people, the food, and the stunning scenery.
She’s absolutely thrilled to be bringing you the breakfast show live right here in Phuket every morning on 91.5 and 102.5 FM and around the world via the stations’ online apps.
