In 1999, Tiësto teamed up with fellow Dutchman Ferry Corsten to form the trance based duo called Gouryella, which proved to be very successful. In 2001, Tiësto released his first solo album titled In My Memory and this is considered the record that launched his career.
If that wasn’t enough… on May 20 of the same year he was appointed Officer of the Order of Orange-Nassau by Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands!
On January 6, 2005, Tiësto performed in an outdoor fundraiser in De Dam, Amsterdam to provide financial aid to those who suffered in the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, which holds a big place in our hearts here in Phuket.
This was a busy year for Tiësto because it was also the birth year of his radio show Club Life on Radio 538 in the Netherlands. A Town Called Paradise is his fifth album and was released on 13 June 2014 featuring massive hits Red Lights and Wasted.
Tiësto has a loyal following with 15 million friends on Facebook, 2 million followers on Twitter and over 400 million views on YouTube… Tiësto is slowly taking over the world.
