The Sunday Walking Street Market occurs every week on Sundays from early afternoon and into to Sunday evening.
Here at this night market you’ll find an assortment of handicrafts, clothing stores and even some local Thai food stalls that will tempt any taste buds with their savory dishes, there will be all sorts of wonderful things here, from decorative masks to handmade ikat fabric that will make for one-of-a-kind bags or clothes.
Bargain with vendors to find out what is the best prices they’re willing to sell their items for but try to be fair, and go away with a win – win souvenir.
Stand in line for delicious desserts from Thai coconut ice cream or passion fruit with jelly, available from one of the many shop/stalls on the side streets off the main road or check out the attractions of one of the art galleries or antique shops that line some parts of this vibrant, fun marketplace. Shopping in Phuket Town can be a treasure trove of souvenirs, clothes and beach wear! The Sunday walking street market is of course outdoors so come prepared with sunscreen, and a hat and at certain times of the season maybe an umbrella.

There’s is so much to see and do in Phuket Old Town.
It is not just about Phuket walking street. It’s a great place to explore and see some of the historical Sino Portuguese buildings often missed by the mainstream tourists, or just to relax with a soft drink or two and enjoy this vibrant area.
Check out some of the restaurants and café in Dibuk Road and Thalang Road witness their colourful facades and interesting designs. Many of the locals dine in these areas and whilst not cheap the menus and prices are acceptable.
China Town
China Town hosts the best Chinese New Year celebrations this year from February 1st to the 3rd and it is not far from Phuket Walking Street and a good place to visit for more souvenirs especially jewellery.
Here you can design a special piece of jewellery and get it made and the price will reflect the current Gold price.
China town has many different types of food stall, such as Chinese dishes like kung pao chicken and sweet-and-sour pork. It also sells clothes that can be very cheap! You can bargain with the vendors to find out what they’re willing to sell their items for.
In the evening, visit one of the many art galleries or antique shops that line some parts of China town and buy artwork to take home with you!
