LUXURY PHUKET RESORT THE NAI HARN ENGAGES LEGENDARY BARMAN SALIM KHOURY AS IT READIES FOR DECEMBER LAUNCH
The luxury beachfront resort THE NAI HARN in Phuket, Thailand has raised the bar for refined tropical hospitality experiences by tapping the expertise of one of the world’s most famous barmen, Mr Salim Khoury, as the hotel prepares to open its doors on December 28 this year.
The legendary barman, who was the Head Barman at the American Bar at The Savoy in London for 34 years, has been engaged to organize the setup, training, and preparation of cocktail lists at all bars at THE NAI HARN and will be in residence for one month following the opening.
The Savoy opened in 1889, with the American Bar opening in 1893 and 110 years later Mr. Khoury became only their 10th Head Barman, joining in 1969 and becoming famous when he won the UK Bartender of the Year award in 1992 with his tribute to Princess Diana by creating his cocktail ‘Blushing Monarch’.
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Salim to the team,” said THE NAI HARN General Manager Frank Grassmann. “It will be an honour to work with the great man and it will truly elevate our beverage experience for guests to genuinely world-class levels.”
Mr Khoury will hold court at an invitation-only launch cocktail function for THE NAI HARN in London at The Langham Hotel’s Artesian Bar, voted the World’s Best Bar 2015 at the World’s 50 Best Bars awards.
At the Artesian he will unveil the signature cocktails prepared exclusively for the luxury resort – RUM-BLE and LADY NAI HARN – using Chalong Bay Rum, an indigenous spirit to Phuket made from organically grown sugar cane from Thailand.
The Langham shares the distinction with THE NAI HARN of belonging to the exclusive collection of Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) properties. It is the only LHW hotel in Phuket that is a member of the pioneering hospitality consortium.
Located on a beautiful Nai Harn, named Thailand’s Best Beach by TripAdvisor users, near the southern tip of the island, THE NAI HARN will offer 130 luxurious guest rooms and suites with panoramic views over the Andaman Sea, a bespoke luxury spa and a stunning new pool Rooftop Deck and food and beverage spaces.
The resort will provide authentic destination experiences, extraordinary culinary happenings and expertly curated connections to the best of island life and southern Thai culture – as well as touches of glamour and indulgence courtesy of a ‘Press For Champagne’ button on every terrace and decadent Beach Butler service on the beach.
